Bannockburn CA Fall Family Hike: Explore the natural world as a family. Why do leaves change colour? What are our wild animal friends doing to prepare for winter? How do they know winter is coming? Find out on this family friendly hike at Bannockburn Conservation Area brought to you by Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority . Trails are between 1-2 m wide, with rolling topography and occasional steep elevation gains. Trail surfaces and boardwalks may be slippery or uneven. Fantastic Fossils: Take a journey through time at Rock Glen Conservation Area with Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority educational interpreters. Learn about the plants and animals that lived here more than 400 million years ago by journeying into the gorge and searching for signs of ancient life. During this 1.5 hours long program we will visit the falls and the Ausable River. To access both the falls and the river participants must be able to descend and ascend two long staircases, of approximately 100 stairs each. Read more.
