MAGIC IN THE ASH-WOODS

Just when we were starting to miss the vibrant colours of spring and summer, a magical autumn casted its amber spell all over the majestic Ashwood forests. Crimson reds and yellow hues blended together with artistic touches of the Sun. It is a sight to behold, to say the least, like a dream coming true.   

Named after the magnificent Ash trees, Ashwood Inn takes pride in the nineteen acres of unspoiled forest lands harvested on the property in 2014, the Ash trees are now an integral part of the Inn’s identity and aesthetics. Fun fact, Ashwood’s regal log-desk at the reception area and several other elements of the Inn’s intricate décor are an ode to the legacy of the Ashwood forests. Each one of our twenty-two suites have a little bit of Ashwood’s beautiful history.

The Ashwood trail is equally loved and cherished by the locals of Bayfield, the trail has been a beloved part of Bayfield’s traditions and legacy. Among many other local events, one of the most popular annual event that takes place in the Ashwood trail is the much cherished and everyone’s favourite ‘Bayfield Witch Walk’. The Ashwood Inn has been hosting the annual Bayfield Witches Walk for more than half a decade now, the spooktacular walk through the lush Ashwood trails attract many tourists and locals around Halloween every year. But that is not all, the annual event proudly hosted by Ashwood Inn also helps raise funds for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of North Huron. The stations include everything from electrified electric chairs to disturbing dolls, walking cannibals, aliens, flying spiders and of course an array of witches. In short, we do Halloween like no other. And even though we might miss the iconic Bayfield Witches Walk this year, the Ashwood forests still remain a favourite spot for some spooky fun with the nearest and dearest ones.

On the other end of the Ashwood forests you will see a breathtakingly beautiful wedding ceremony space. The Ashwood provides ceremony space on the grass with the woods as your backdrop, a beautiful white arbour for you to use for your ceremony and ceremony benches. You are also welcome to have your micro ceremony nestled in any other spot in forest area. Ashwood also provides hydro hookups, recycling and garbage bins, and a 40’ x 60’ wood dance floor and bistro lighting.
